For parents

Everything a grown-up would want to check before handing the phone over.

The short version. Your child can play the whole game without giving us anything at all. Nothing is collected until they choose to put a score on the scoreboard, make an account, add a friend or turn on notifications. We never ask for an email address, a date of birth, a phone number or a real name. There are no adverts running at all today, and nothing can be bought without a grown-up passing a real barrier first.

Can they play without an account?

Yes, all of it except the live races. Scores, coins, outfits and the sound setting are kept in the browser on that device. If you clear the browser they are gone, and we never saw them in the first place.

What if they do make an account?

An account is a username and a password, or a Google sign-in. If they use Google we receive an anonymous identifier and nothing else, never an email address. If they set a password we store a scrambled version that cannot be turned back, which also means we cannot tell you what it was if it is forgotten.

The full list of what is stored, and who else is involved, is on the privacy page.

Nicknames on the scoreboard

The scoreboard is public. The screen where a nickname is typed says so and asks for a nickname rather than a real name. If a real name has already gone up, email us and it comes off.

Spending money

Coins buy outfits, and outfits change how a character looks and nothing else. No outfit makes the game easier, and none of them is needed to reach the top zone.

Coins can be earned by playing. They can also be bought, and that path deliberately carries a real barrier rather than the tap-to-confirm most games use:

That loses us sales. It is the right trade for a game children play.

Adverts

There are no adverts in the game at the moment. None are switched on, so nothing is being shown to anybody today.

When they are switched on they will be optional and rewarded, so a player can choose to watch one to carry on after a crash or to double their coins, and no part of the game will be locked behind one. Because this is a game children play, they will be set up so they are not personalised, and in the UK and Europe consent is asked for before any advertising cookie is set, with refusing as easy as agreeing.

Turning things off

ThingWhere
Sound and voiceProfile, and voice is off unless it is switched on
NotificationsProfile. Turning them off deletes the subscription, it does not park it.
The accountEmail us and it is deleted, along with the scores attached to it

Screen time

A run lasts a minute or two and the game saves after every one, so there is never a level half finished that makes stopping a fight. The daily challenge changes once a day, so there is a reason to come back tomorrow rather than to keep going tonight.

Asking us something

There is no form and no account needed. Email samolliver@techphobe.com with the nickname or username and we will deal with it, normally in a few days and always within a month.
